FORMAÇÃO E ESTRUTURAÇÃO DO CAMPO ORGANIZACIONAL DA INDÚSTRIA PESQUEIRA EM CALLAO, PERU

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the creation and structure of the organizational field of the fishing industry of Callao, Peru based on the approach of the institutional theory. The usage of the organizational field concept and its application to the fishing industry allows one to determine how the organizations that are part of this concept behave. The results obtained, as well as the analysis, were elaborated from data collected in documents and also through a series of semi-structured interviews with representatives of the principal organizations that composes the field. The currently level of the field structure is a moderate one not only because it is an activity centered almost exclusively in the industrial production of fish meal, leaving aside other industries, but also due to the frailty according to which some indicators presented themselves in the area. The influence of the private sector is a determinant in this situation.
