Abstract

Although we still have not reached our goal of having RESI acknowledged as a B1 or B2 journal in Qualis, the Brazilian main scientific journal indexer, we are going up the scale. As soon the Brazilian journals will start being measure according to their impact factor, we expect RESI to progress even further. The majority of Brazilian good academic journals in business and information systems are not indexed by JCR or Scopus. That also happens to RESI. However, when we use "Publish or Perish", or any other similar software to check the journal's impact on the web, it is clear that RESI already deserves to be better ranked and that will have to be acknowledged some time. For now, we are happy to be able to publish the work of some of the most notorious Brazilian researchers in IS (and other Latin American good researchers have joined them in the last few years), as well as providing younger researchers with an opportunity of exposing their work to our research community!

Of course we can still improve our performance, with respect to our impact factor. In order to do that, Brazilian and other Latin American researchers should give more value to research that is developed regionally, reading and quoting the work of their Latin American colleagues. RESI will always promote that, because the development and use of technology is socially and culturally influenced.

RESI will never close its doors to researchers from other parts of the world, but it is specially committed to supporting Ibero-American research in the field of IS, as it is noticeable in recent issues, that always bring at least one paper from our colleagues from Latin America, Portugal or Spain.

I hope you all enjoy this new issue!
