Djavan Antério, Pierre Normando Gomes-da-Silva

Abstract

This article inserts in the scope of an investigation to concepts and meanings of the body as a subjective element, that is, analyzing it beyond the organic, biological and esthetic perspectives. It aims to review various lines of thinking, encouraging a reflective discussion on this subject. The methodology adopted was a systematic review, made on the basis of philosophy, arts and education, bending itself on renowned literary works. For each area of knowledge, we adopted an respective author, having, when necessary, support of other relevant thinkers to discussion. We selected three literary works and divided them into three categories: concepts about the body; epistemological essence of the subjetivizing body; and ideological perspectives of the relationship between the body and the subject. The studies showed different contexts, but with similarities in the concepts in which it is possible to glimpse ideological approaches about the body as subjective element.
