Abstract

Dear readers and authors,

In the first issue of 2009, Revista Eletrônica de Sistemas de Informação started using a special font Spranq Eco Sans in its papers, to reduce the cost incurred by those who decided to print the electronic papers before reading them. That font reduces the amount of ink for printing because it has little holes in each letter, which are almost unnoticeable with bare eyes.

One of our readers (and author), Prof. Guillermo Friedrich, from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, suggested that we adopted a layout for the journal with a single column, instead of the two columns that we had been using. He thought that it would help the internaut decide to read on screen, as it would not be necessary to scroll up and down to read online.

Thanks, Guillermo. In this world of ours, which is in constant change, we need people like you to free us from old paradigms, that no longer make sense (in the case of an electronic journal like ours, it has probably never made sense). I feel a bit embarassed that it took us eight years to see what seems to be the obvious!

Of course, your suggestion has been accepted and papers will be presented in a single column from now on.

Thus, we go on with our metamorphosis, in an attempt to build a journal that is each time more inteligent and ajusted to the (also changing) needs of our academic community.

Please enjoy the content of this issue and send us any suggestions that you think that could help us make RESI a relevant means of contact with the advances in our field and also a special chanel for the publication of your own research findings.
